What better a way to end the semester than a little friendly competition and entertainment? If this sounds like a good time then join us on Friday December 17th @ 7:30pm in RM 331 for Impromptu 6!

Impromptu is a live digital design competition where CSUN’s most talented designers and artists go head to head in a live battle of creative wit and technique.

If you are intersted in competing send a pdf of your best work to joseph.bautista@csun.edu - but keep it under 5MB!

In addition to the competition there will be a silent skateboard auction with decks for sale customized by graphic design students & professors. Bidding will start at $20 each.

FREELANCE WORKSHOP

THE DATE FOR THIS EVENT HAS CHANGED!

SAGA is holding the final MEMBERS ONLY workshop of the semester on Thursday December 9th 2010 in Room 408 from 5-7pm.

Come out and learn how to freelance your talent outside of school. This workshop will give you the tools to present yourself professionally and learn the ins and outs of freelancing.

SAGA is proud to present some amazing work in this semesters annual design exhibit: Negative Space. Stop by and check out some of the latest work from our talented design students. Work includes print, packaging and motion graphic projects. This event will take place in the Art Departments West Gallery from November 29th through December 2nd. We will have a reception on Wednesday December 1 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. We would love for all of you to come out and support the work of our students while enjoying food and drinks.

Panel Discussion

Please join SAGA in welcoming three local designers who will be speaking at our Annual Panel Discussion.

This year our focus for Panel Discussion is to highlight graduates from CSUN that have gone on to do inspiring things. We have chosen to go with someone fresh out of school by a year or two, someone who graduated around five years ago and someone who has been in the industry for over 10 years. This way our students can hear about the journey these designers have gone on since graduating from CSUN.

Our first speaker is Nir Gutman. Nir graduated from CSUN a few years ago and works at BLT & Associates as a Junior Designer.

Our second speaker is Miguel Almena. Miguel graduated in 2004 and was a former President of SAGA. He is currently head of development and design at Newco International.

We will finish our discussion with Aaron Atchison (design guru). Aaron created the Mugo Player winning the Intel Digital Artist 2009 Awards. Aaron graduated over 10 years ago and is a design inspiration.

Negative Space

SAGA is hosting the Annual Student Design Exhibit, "NEGATIVE SPACE". The event will be held in the West Gallery from November 29th through December 2nd. We are now accepting graphic design submissions. The deadline for submissions is November 22nd. SAGA is offering a members only workshop to give you the correct tools to help you build your portfolio. This workshop also gives you the opportunity to see portfolios of other students.
